Hendrik op 't Root Architect Ltd. was involved in the preparation of the design, in camera presentations, and infra-structure analysis. This submission was part of a competition which native tribe would be permitted to host the first aboriginal casino in Ontario. The all inclusive proposal by a Casino Operator including the design was presented to the Aboriginal Gaming Commission, and later the OLG. The Rama Tribe was the successful bidder. The design located the casino at Lake Couchiging. The theme was organic. The design was based upon a "turtle" representing mother earth.... The actual "Interim Casino" was located on an inland industrial plot, which later became the permanent site, when a hotel was added.

The Diversicare Retirement Tower ( Phase 2) is close to partial occupancy. Architect of Record is David Arsenault Architect. Hendrik op 't Root Architect provided assistance with the exterior design, and colours. Furthermore the firm was responsible for the Rezoning, and Site Plan Process. Duca Financial Services (Phase 1) was executed entirely by Hendrik op 't Root Architect. Duca Financial Services will shortly obtain access to 5 indoor surface parking spaces, the ramp to the parking level, and to the truck loading. Temporary power and gas services are in the process of being changed to permanent power and gas.

Duca Financial Services and DCMs (Diversicare) are in full co-ordination mode to integrate Phase 1 (Duca Financial Institution) and Phase 2 (Retirement Tower), as it will become one building under the Building Code. Architect of record for DCMS is Arsenault Architect. Hendrik Op 't Root Architect is the co-ordinator on behalf of Duca, co-ordinated the rezoning and site plan applications, and provided design input in Phase 2.

Using a scale model, and rendered virtual models enabled the Clients to visualize all spatial interactions. Building Permit Application and working drawings are in full progress now
Fram Group Construction has commenced the formwork and concrete pouring of the Ground Floor columns and walls. The Parking Ramp is in place. Duca will obtain 5 covered surface parking spaces,west of the ramp access. Arsenault Architect Inc.is the Architect of Record.

The renderings of the Phase 2 Retirement Tower by Diversicare (DCMS) were prepared by Hendrik op 't Root Architect Ltd. The Architect of Record is Arsenault Architect Inc. Hendrik op 't Root Architect Ltd was instrumental in obtaining the re-zoning, site plan agreement, and severence approvals, as well as providing design input. The existing Duca building and the retirement tower will share similar finishes. The south elevation at Ellerslie Avenue will be further enhanced with dramatic two storey arches.

Fram Group on behalf of Diversicare (DCMS) is constructing a 17-Storey Retirement Tower. Ground breaking Ceremony was held on September 13, 2010 with Deputy Mayor Pantalone in attendance. The Architect is Arsenault Architect, withexterior design assistance by Hendrik op 't Root Architect Ltd. Phase 1 and 2 will become one building, although legally severed.
